Clean/Caress

Clean/Caress was a three-hour durational performance on two opposite ends of Grand Street on the Lower East Side. Performed at high noon in July, Clean/Caress is part ritual, part white peril, part gentrifier’s mourning song. It is also a prayer for a neighborhood I called home for 7 years.
